![]() On Saturday, April 27, 2019, the West Briar Middle School Bands are traveling to San Antonio to perform at the Bluebonnet Classic Music Festival at the Lila Cockrell Theater! The Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Beginning Band will have separate performances at the festival. This is a great opportunity for our students to perform in a professional theater and to receive feedback from highly respected music educators! 1st trip payment is due by Monday, March 4th. We're very excited to have the opportunity to take ALL of the band and orchestra students to see the Houston Symphony Perform at Jones Hall on January 30th! This is a special concert created just for middle school students. We are very fortunate to have this trip fully funded by donations from the Houston Symphony and transportation provided by the Band Fundraisers.
Students need to return their completed permission and medical release form to Mr. Hall no later than Friday, January 25th. Students can DOWNLOAD and print a new copy of the forms if they have misplaced them. We need chaperones! Please email Mr. Hall to check for availability. Students in the West Briar Middle School Wind Ensemble are expected to audition for HISD All-City Band. Symphonic Band students may audition with the Mr. Hall's recommendation. Parents & Students: Please read the attached Information Letter and Commitment Agreement. Thank you! ![]() The week of September 24th is a busy one for the West Briar Bands! The Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble will kick-off Homecoming Week on Monday, September 24th by performing for all students before school in the cafeteria. The bands will also perform at the Fall Sports Pep Rally for 8th graders later that day during 7th period. On Tuesday, September 25th, the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will travel to Delmar Stadium to perform and support our Grizzlies at the Homecoming Football Game. Lastly, the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will have and open rehearsal/performance for parents and visitors at Parent University on Thursday, September 27th at West Briar MS, between 6pm and 7pm. We hope you will come hear and see the fantastic Grizzly Bands! All performances are required and graded activities for the Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble Students.

We're excited to partner with Yankee Candle and their excellent line of high quality products to help raise funds for music, instruments, supplies, trip expenses, and student scholarships. 40% of our total sales will go directly to support the band! I think you'll find that the fundraiser is worth your time and money. Please speak with any of the West Briar Band students to place an order.
